This is a rare and historically significant handwritten letter of authenticity for Le trois femmes (Three Ladies) by Nguyen Gia Tri, personally certified by the renowned artist Le Pho on July 10, 2000. In his inscription, Le Pho affirms, "Ce tableau est bien de Nguyen Gia Tri," confirming the authenticity of this masterwork. The document is signed by Le Pho in both Latin script and Chinese characters, further underscoring the legitimacy of this remarkable piece.

Beyond its authentication, this painting carries a prestigious exhibition history. Originally titled La Visite (The Visit), it was showcased at the Société Annamite d’Encouragement à l’Art et à l’Industrie (SADEAI) exhibition in Hanoi in 1935, where it was awarded the Grand Prize. Later, Nguyen Gia Tri and Le Pho collectively decided to refine its title, reflecting their shared artistic vision and deep admiration for the work.

With its impeccable provenance, official certification by Le Pho, and a distinguished place in Vietnamese art history, Le trois femmes (Three Ladies) stands as an invaluable testament to the golden era of Indochinese painting.
