Matisse, in his workshop in Nice, Place Charles-Félix, in a decor that he organized, a stage, shimmering fabrics, flowers... He sets up his easel and the magic happens. Arriving in Nice in 1917, Matisse made the Côte d'Azur his chosen land, he lived there and above all worked there until the end of his days in 1954.
