Le Viêt Nam Des Royaumes, the pioneering exhibition in history where the art of Vietnam was phenomenally identified, assembled and presented in this exceptional way under the general curation and scientific direction of Mr Jean-François Hubert, Expert in Far Eastern Art. The exhibition was held at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, 24 rue de Sèvres 75007 Paris, one of the oldest prestigious modern department stores located in the heart of intellectual Paris in 1995.
The exhibition accompanied by a catalogue published by Cercle d'Art brings together precious Vietnamese artworks and antiques along with unpublished wordings from the best specialists in the field. The authors have deliberately limited their studies to the peak periods of their fields of reference: ceramics, sculpture, etc. Various contributions to a historical approach endeavour to underline how much, in spite of its tormented history, Vietnam has always been able to affirm its vitality and defend the originality of a thousand-year-old culture, especially the contribution of His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Nguyen Phuc Bao Long of The Imperial Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam.
