Christie's Hong Kong brings together a diverse selection of works by modern artists from East and West. Vietnamese modern art will kick off the sale with paintings by celebrated artists Mai Trung Thu, Le Pho, Nguyen Phan Chanh and a five-panel lacquer masterpiece by Hoang Tich Chu.

Along with these Vietnamese paintings, works by European modern artists will converse with those of Asian masters: Pablo Picasso, Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, Henry Moore, Bernard Buffet and Giorgio de Chirico will mingle with Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun, Guan Liang, Rhee Seundja, Takesada Matsutani and Pang Jiun. Sanyu’s rediscovered 1934 painting Pink Hydrangeas from a Dutch private collection is the jewel of the sale. Highlights also include an exciting selection of Singaporean, Filipino and Indonesian works.
