Works by Vietnamese artists Le Pho, Vu Cao Dam, Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Nguyen Nam Son, Nguyen Sang... on display and auction sale at Christie’s Hong Kong, 29 May 2024.
Christie's 20th Century Art Day sale this year features works by Asian masters bridging the East and the West, as well as their prominent contemporaries in Europe and the Americas; the auction traces how modern art has traversed time and borders. Only known painting of a pink zebra by Sanyu will lead the sale, followed by two abstract paintings by Zao Wou-Ki and works by fellow Asian luminaries, conversing with those by celebrated artists from the West such as Pablo Picasso, Fernando Botero, and a group of eight Marc Chagall works on paper from the Estate of the artist, not to mention Korean modern art pioneers including Kim Whan ki, Kim Tschang-yeul and Lee Ufan and other Singaporean & Indonesian artists.
Particularly, as per the Vietnamese section, adorned by a group of 3 sculptures by Vu Cao Dam, the selection of works by the masters, including Nguyen Nam Son, Le Pho, Nguyen Gia Tri, Nguyen Tu Nghiem and Nguyen Sang... is not to be missed.
